The Student Reception
Promote good fellowship instead of humiliation
The time when orientation was associated with humiliation is completely over, so as a new student, you don't need to worry. The mentors' task is to support and help you get settled so that your start to your studies is as good as possible. They plan and carry out activities for the new students to help them get to know each other and feel more secure in the new life situation that starting a new education can entail, possibly moving to a new city, and certainly getting to know a large number of new people.
Activities and alcohol are completely voluntary
All organized activities are voluntary. Orientation (Nolle-P) should not be degrading. If you happen to feel humiliated or forced into something, you should immediately contact the mentors or the student union. Although alcohol is present during Nolle-P, it is absolutely not a must. There are always non-alcoholic alternatives, and no one looks down on those who abstain. Half of the days are alcohol-free.
Everyone is in the same boat
The advantage of participating in Nolle-P is that you create a network among your course mates and older students, as well as between different programs. For example, you will learn how the university works, where to buy course literature, and you can also get valuable study tips. Almost everyone who comes here knows no one, which increases the chances of good cohesion and that, as a new student, you get to know many new people – everyone is in the same boat and equally anxious and excited about what is to come.
Joint reception policy
Together with the sister unions LinTek and Consensus, a reception policy has been developed. The policy regulates the form and framework of the reception to ensure that it takes place in an open and inviting manner for everyone.
