The Student Council is StuFF's highest decision-making body and consists of approximately 20-35 students. StuFF's council consists of two electoral districts, the list district and the section district.
The list constituency is the part of the council that consists of lists; this constituency has 51% of the mandates. Lists can be likened to a party, where one or more students have come together to advocate for student political issues that they consider important. A list can be party-political, but it is just as acceptable to run with a list that is non-partisan. It is the members of StuFF who, by voting, choose who will sit on the list circuit through the student union election.
The section circuit consists of students from all sections that StuFF collaborates with, this circuit has 49% of the mandates. The sections receive mandates distributed based on how many members there are in the section. It is the section that chooses who or whom to send to the council to represent the section's views.
It is the council that votes in StuFF's full-time officers (the board) and decides which issues the student union should pursue. The StuFF council makes decisions about StuFF's direction, operations, and budget. It was, among other things, the council that took the initiative regarding student discounts in public transportation. The work of the council is regulated by StuFF's governing documents.
Everyone who sits on the student council (FUM) are students and do this in their spare time. There are approximately 8-10 council meetings per year. StuFF's fiscal year is from July 1 to June 30, the council meetings are usually held from September to May.
Benefits for everyone sitting in the council:
Food and snacks at all meetings

Great opportunities to influence StuFF's work and how student politics at LiU are conducted.
Good merit for the CV
Engagement points, which are advantageous when applying for studies abroad, for students at the Faculty of Arts and Science.
