East Sweden Hack is a hackathon, a competition during 24 hours where people with different competences creates new products and services during a limited amount of time. Creators, innovators and programmers meet up and creates a place for innovation, creativity and development. 2017 it’s the 5 year anniversary of East Sweden Hack and we look forward to invite international student teams to celebrate this with us.
During two days you get to solve problems, be inspired and learn new things – and hang out with some of the coolest talents from Sweden. We’ll make sure that everything around you works so that you can focus on developing your product.
This year we focus on the City of the Future. The hackathon take place in Vallastaden, a brand new part of Linköping. Vallastaden will be on show in 2nd-24th of September as part of a major housing and society exhibition. East Sweden Hack will be one of many events during this exhibition. The goal of East Sweden Hack is to develop new products and solutions during a weekend by combining our partners open data with internet of things.
East Sweden Hack is arranged by Science Park Mjärdevi together with 40 different companies and organizations in Linköping. Early years the prizes has been trips to Paris, Silicon Valley, Berlin and CES in Las Vegas. This year’s prize will be revealed at the Pre- Hack the 16 th of May.
Find your challenge
At East Sweden Hack only 20 teams will be able to realize their idea. We will reserve places for the international teams. The aim of the hackathon is to use one of our partners open data and that your solution is connected to the internet through a microprocessor. We provide you with the hardware, www.m.nu is our hardware supplier.
There is not much time at the hackathon and there is lots of work to do. Therefore each team has to contain 4 team members. We think that a team with diversity will get the best results. The optimal team contains 1-2 developers, a project leader or someone with experience of hardware development and someone with knowledge of design and GUI (Graphical User Interface). Students at any level, ungraduated, master students or PHD are welcome.
